High-melt Fischer-Tropsch waxes have a unique combination of high melting point, low viscosity and hardness, even at elevated temperatures, which ensure superior performance in applications such as hot melt adhesives (HMA), printing inks and coatings, bitumen modification, polymer processing and polishes and textiles.
These products are often used in conjunction with lower melting microcrystalline and paraffin waxes.
- Hybit®The use of Hybit (former known as Sasol Wax) takes the asphalt application to the next, new level. During the cooling phase Hybit starts crystalize at 90°C and forms a lattice structure in the bitumen which has a stiffening effect to turn up the durability. Deformation resistance increases significantly, without impairing low-temperature performance. Hybit is also used for reduced viscosity, reduced production temperature (WMA), reduced compaction resistance, less CO2 emission, less energy consumption and less fumes and aerosols.
- Hybit® RHybit R has a lower congealing point (approx.60 °C) than Hybit. This makes it ideal to use for reduced viscosity, reduced production temperature (WMA) and reduced compaction resistance. Hybit R does not significantly change bitumen stiffness, and it has no impact on softening point and on penetration.
