Colored asphalt pavements are used for bicycle lanes, parking lots and intersections to promote road safety
By using a high-quality polymer modified clear binder, a bright color can be achieved with relatively little added pigment, typically 1-1,5%.
This is in contrast to conventional black bitumen with which a dark color is still obtained with 5% (powder) pigment. A colored asphalt with a polymer modified clear binder will behave like a standard black asphalt.
